I recently had an amazing stay at a B&B in Athlone. the room at Villa StJohn was small, but very comfortable, and I found it to be the perfect place to relax for a couple of nights. the owners of the B&B were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure that my friends and I had everything we needed. the continental breakfast provided was quite good, and the highlight of the location was the unexpected bonus of a beautiful river walk nearby.
Although the B&B is a bit out of the way, the town center is only a short drive away, making it a convenient base for exploring Athlone. Cons: No complaints!

The staff were friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any requests or questions. They went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. the breakfast was delicious and offered a variety of options. the location was convenient, with easy access to the town center and motorway.
The mattress was uncomfortable and made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. walking alone at night to the town center felt unsafe and inconvenient.

The location of the hotel was great, close to all the Christmas markets and the shops. The staff were friendly and welcoming, offering us a warm cup of tea upon arrival. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was comfortable.
The noise level was unbearable. The room was positioned facing a busy road, and the constant traffic kept us awake all night.
